How does your adoption process work?
Before you can adopt any animal, we ask you to complete an adoption application (See below for links to application forms.). This application is the first step in the process and is starting point for both parties to determine if an animal is the right fit for a family.
Once the application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the foster family, and you will be contacted either by email or phone for an interview. You may send the completed application via email to the address at right, or you may mail the completed to us.
Adoptions are not done on a first-come, first serve basis. Applications are reviewed, vet references are checked, and interviews are conducted.

What does your adoption fee include?
Our adoption fee includes:
- Health exam
- Spay/neuter
- Worming (age related)
- Vaccines (age related)
- Heartworm Preventive (starting at 6 weeks old)
- 4 DX test (for heartworm and tick-borne diseases)
- Flea and Tick Treatment
- Microchip with lifetime registration
- Transport Fee (if transport is required)
Can’t I just talk to someone before filling out an application?
Warm Hearts’ volunteers have made a commitment to ensure that the animals we place will be in their new homes for life. This is why we ask that applicants complete an application prior to speaking with a foster family.
Where can I go to meet all the dogs at one time?
Warm Hearts does not have a shelter. Dogs are fostered in private homes. There is no central location for you to meet all of the dogs at once.
How long does it take from when I submit my application to being able to adopt?
That depends. We are a small group of volunteers and try our best to respond within a day.
What forms of payment do you accept?
The adoption fee is payable by cash, check, or you can use PayPal using your PayPal account or a credit card. To pay by using PayPal, or to use the PayPal service to submit a credit card payment, just click on the “Donate” button on the right-hand side of this page.
