Meet Meghan and Markle!

Meghan and Markle know how to work those sweet eyes.

They aren’t marrying royalty, but these puppies are a prince and a princess. These precious puppies were going to be given away at Wal Mart. We rescued them and they are healthy, happy puppies.

A Successful Warm Hearts Fundraiser – March 25, 2017

On March 25th, 2017, over 200 people from all walks of life in our community gathered at the Joplin Volunteer Fire Department’s Fire House at Mountain Harbor Resort and Spa to support the animals in need in our county.  The good folks from Mountain Harbor Resort volunteered time and energy to clear out the fire station, set up tables and chairs, and provide the best chefs in the county to fry fish, potatoes and hush puppies for the crowd to feast upon.  Local businesses and supporters donated items for the auctions and uber auctioneer, Ricky Lee, did a fabulous job of getting the best price he could for the items.  Friends and visitors donated their evening and their funds to insure that The Warm Hearts Humane Society has the funding to continue to help the animals in our county.

Warm Hearts Humane Society appreciates all who helped support us at our 2017 Fish Fry Fundraiser
(Click on this image to view more photos from the fundraiser.)

One of the main priorities of our organization is to provide low cost spay/neuter vouchers to help stop the flow of unwanted litters of puppies and kittens.  In 2016, we were able to underwrite the spay/neuter of over 200 dogs and cats.  In addition to that, we rescued and rehomed over 50 animals by fostering in private homes.   This would not be possible without the support of the community.  Our expenses last year topped $35K.  We raised over $12K at our event to continue the good work.

Our hearts are very warm, and we want to extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who donated their time, energy and money to help make this event such a huge success.

THANK YOU ALL!!!

We are trying to help little Buttonfly find a new home. His owner died several days ago and this darling little fellow is grieving.

HOORAY!  BUTTONFLY IS ADOPTED!

Update:  Feb. 17, 2017

Buttonfly left for his new home today! Many thanks to Carrie, from Carrie’s Dog House, for rescuing and grooming him and many thanks to Chuck and Sharon Dumas for fostering this little fellow and getting him ready for his new life. They did a great job and Buttonfly, who grieved the loss of his owner, is now a happy, confident little dog and will give his new owner lots of joy.

Will you be my new family?

Will you be my new family?

After staying a short while with his groomer, Buttonfly is now with a foster home. He has had wonderful care all of his life, but now he needs some special love and a new home.

Local friends: Buttonfly has been a patient at Lake Hamilton Animal Hospital for many years and they have vouched for his excellent care.

Too cute for words. Please consider bringing me into your home!

Please email Warm Hearts by clicking on the link on the right side of this page if you think you could give Buttonly a good home.

We prefer that he stay local. A long trip is more than he could handle right now.

Meet the THV11 Cuteness Bowl Puppies

During the Superbowl THV11will be FB LIVE with these 4 cuties:  3 girls 1 boy. Here is their all-too-familiar story.

Their mom showed up at a house in West Little Rock, AR,  very pregnant and desperately needing a safe warm place to have her babies. The wonderful homeowners gave her that place and have been fostering the whole family.

These puppies are now weaned but are still awaiting their second set of shots. Mom has a home, and these babies will be available for adoption soon.

BUT, until then, they will be our guest for the THV11 Cuteness Bowl on Super Bowl Sunday, where they will be promoted for adoption and will serve as ambassadors to encourage people to spay and neuter their pets.

These puppies are some of the lucky ones.

This little fellow will steal your heart.

This little girl is a doll.

This female pup is ready to give puppy kisses.

This little girl is learning to “sit.”
